Replacing bathroom and downstairs WC - is this quote too high?

My partner and I are moving house at the end of the week. One of the major jobs on our list for the new house is replacing the bathroom and the downstairs WC. Wickes have quoted £3,500 for both, which seems ridiculously high to me!

We need a new bath, power shower, sink x2, and toilet x2. The Wickes quote includes just over £2000 for labour costs. The bathroom isn't big, there isn't even room for a 'P' shaped bath. We don't need to have any tiling done, we just need the above items and for someone to install them.

My partner and I have no experience with this sort of thing. We also need a new kitchen, which is proving quite a headache too!

If anyone can offer their opinion on the bathroom quote it would be much appreciated!

we had new shower enc and unit, bath wc and sink tiling in our bathroom and it was £3k

It will take about 5 days or so.

We bought from Better bathrooms and hired our own workers.

I think that sounds quite reasonable. Somebody I know had a small bathroom done and it cost £3000.

seems very low to me.

does it include a ventilation fan in the bathroom or a pump go increase shower pressure?

We had our en suite done 4 years ago, and it cost about £4k. We redid the family bathroom last year which was a more straight forward job as it was replacing like-for-like and very little tiling, but did involve a new hot water cylinder, and cost about £2.5k.

Your quote sounds quite low.

We did ours and it came to the cost of the materials.
You can do it yourself for nothing if it is just replacing like for like.
You will have no extra piping to do.
Of course it may be more difficult if you have to add on to existing pipework, but then its easy enough.
It sounds like a big amount for a small job.
OP buy a good DIY book or go online between your bathroom and kitchen you'll save thousands.
We had no idea of stuff like this when we got together we just learned over the years.

We've had v similar quote from local builder for similar sounding job. Ours includes tiling as well though. Maybe worth getting another quote or two?
