Aqua for kitchen/diner walls - naff?

It is a north west facing room so very little light - the kitchen will be white gloss. I don't want to paint the walls white because I think it will just look grubby in the reduced white. Online advice seems to suggest this and that paint shouldn't necessarily be pale in dark rooms. So I'm thinking an aqua, possibly quite a 'strong' aqua might fit the bill - any opinions? Thanks!

I think it sounds good. Have you looked at light reflecting paints, they're supposed to help in darker rooms?

Just done our kitchen in aqua for similar reasons. It looks very nice at moment, just hoping it doesn't look a bit cold in winter.

Thanks both. Will look into light reflecting paint but sounds like it might be....shiny?? Clawdy, what shade of aqua did you go for?

I'm planning on aqua/teal/turquoise & am off to homebase to get a roll of thick lining paper & several testers whilst they have15% off this w/e!
I'll post some examples when up if it helps?
