In Search of Paint Holy Grail - Attractive (matt) AND Durable?! HELP!

I'm in a quandary. I have a decorator coming on Monday, and I haven't bought paint yet as am having a bit of a wobble!! Need advice re: durability of paint brands.

The rear of our house is fair open plan - a large U shape - and is where we spend most time and receive most people (contains kitchen, diner, kids lounge). As our dining area is there it is where we have guests whenever they are over for dinner. It is also where DS does most of his playing. It is the hub of the house, you might say. So I'm having a problem deciding on a paint that is both attractive and durable

I'd decided on getting f&b shades (Tunsgate Green for kitchen/diner, Breakfast Room Green for the kids lounge) colour matched and having the room painted in Dulux Diamond Matt. But I fear I will hate the result and the bold colour I've picked for the lounge will only work with a nice deep chalky finish. I have gone boss eyed reading contradictory forums, but repeatedly read that Little Greene Intelligent Matt is very durable. Will it withstand being wiped constantly due to an over excited 9 month old in a high chair?! Who will soon no doubt develop into an excited little toddler with sticky hands and toy trucks bashing into it....

Help oh decorating wise-ones...

I've heard good things about little green. First hand experience with johnstones acrylic matt: I prefer the finish to dulux diamond matt, and I've given it a good old wipe down.

I like Little Greene paint but for emulsion Crown trade matt, from a Crown Trade Centre, is excellent.

It needs to be the one that can be scrubbed. It really does stand up to enormous wear and tear, the finish is lovely and it can be colour matched to whatever you want.

I've had F&B colours matched at a johnsons trade centre in their durable/washable paint. Its not completely flat matt but not far off, certainly nowhere near as shiny as even a soft sheen.

Little Greene Intelligent Matt does what is says on the tin, I've just gone round our kitchen walls with Cif getting off the marks splashes and grubby handprints and no paint came off, it's good as new. Keep the tin and you can always touch up when the dc get past the bashing stage.

They are a lovely range of colours although a bit thin on greens when we were choosing. They had to be mixed to order by the decorator shop.

IIRC the decorator's merchant had several durable matts in the trade ranges.
