Moving the kitchen - how?

We're looking at a house that we really like, except that the kitchen is too small to eat in. Currently there is a hall in the middle with the kitchen to the right and a study garage conversion to the left, which would be big enough to put a dining kitchen in. How difficult would it be to swap study and kitchen over, and how much would it cost roughly? The hall is about 5ft wide. Sadly there's no option of extending the current kitchen!

We are doing something similar and have had quotes ranging from £1700 to £10000 so I would recommend getting a few people in!

From what we have been told by fitters I don't think it's much more expensive than replacing a kitchen except that you need to see how easy it will be to get gas and water in and waste out and leave some over to make good the old room.

The fitters we has in were all very reluctant to move the old units and recommended new - partly I suppose because they can get a cut on them but also because they thought they might be damaged and would look crap and that would reflect poorly on them.
