God that's seriously weird (esp in the bedrooms!)

Do we infer that the stuffed things are actually there but they photoshopped them out to show people what it could be like? (Or have they photoshopped them in to attract dead animal lovers?)

itstheyearzero · 18/07/2014 19:54

What the actual fuck is that all about????

PatriciaHolm · 18/07/2014 19:54

I've got a horrible feeling that the CGI is in the cleared rooms, with the taxidermy the actual rooms. Look at the mirror in the dining room - blank in the cleared pic, reflections of animals in the other one...

GemmaTeller · 18/07/2014 19:55

hahaha,

do you think it was someone messing about in photoshop and they accidentally got uploaded or they are all actually there and they had to photoshop them out for the 'this is what it could look like photos'

notapizzaeater · 18/07/2014 19:57

Omg .....

Onetwothreeoops · 18/07/2014 19:58

The taxidermy pics have quite elaborate shadows. I think they are the real ones

Yama · 18/07/2014 19:59

The floorplan shows that there are two toilets off the master bedroom. His n' her bogs.

tribpot · 18/07/2014 20:02

I agree - look also at the shadows on the wall. It would take forever to have photoshopped those in, much easier to smudge them out when deleting the dead animal collection from hell. Plus some of the walls look strangely empty without half of Noah's ark hanging from them.

Notice the dear old pheasants on the living room mantelpiece survive the airbrushing!

nilbyname · 18/07/2014 20:04

Holy shit! I would think that all those animals are the real deal and have been photoshopped out for visualising purposes.

traviata · 18/07/2014 20:08

I think those are walk-in cupboards, not WCs.

but how weird!

Yama · 18/07/2014 20:12

Yes, walk in cupboards. Of course. That makes sense.

SunshineOutdoors · 18/07/2014 20:13

Disappointed there isn't any in the bathrooms.

notapizzaeater · 18/07/2014 20:42

Perhaps the steam ruins the fur !

tribpot · 18/07/2014 20:52

I pity the poor bugger who had to photoshop them out in all their creepy glory.

MoonlightandRoses · 18/07/2014 20:55

Oh good Lord, you're right, the 'blank canvas' was the photoshopped bit - Envy

Bonkers but what an utterly amazing apartment, building and location swoon

Politelydeclining · 18/07/2014 21:03

That is incredibly disturbing.

unlucky83 · 18/07/2014 21:08

That's a carpet beetles idea of heaven - all those rotting hides for them to feast on... Yuk...

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2014 21:10

Nah, it's a) American (think "Huntin', Shootin' Fishin'") and "on the market for the first time in 50 years". So the owner is probably 80, ill or passed away, and that's a lifetime of shooting paraphanalia that he/she (probably he!) has lovingly collected over the years.

I suspect they was not a vegan.....

Aethelfleda · 18/07/2014 21:12

Ah, read the link. Not a hunter then!

KissMyFatArse · 18/07/2014 21:12

Eccentric and rank!

CitronVert · 18/07/2014 21:15

Imagine trying to sleep in one of the bedrooms with all those cold, dead eyes looking at you. I freak out if there's a moth in my bedroom.

tribpot · 18/07/2014 21:17

In all, Mr. Speck owns 400 specimens — 200 at the Beresford apartment and 200 at his home in Harrisonburg, Va.

He truly is the Noah of taxidermy.

LemonBreeland · 18/07/2014 21:20

That is truly hideous. Great location though.

wowfudge · 19/07/2014 07:28

Something tells me he could be a pain in the ass to deal with - he'd love the buyer to be someone who'd keep his collection there!

The bathroom is gorgeous - huge bath.
