We are buying a flat which has white walls in all the rooms.
We are going for a distressed/rustic/modern look, so will be sanding the floorboards and liming them.
I was quite happy with the idea of all-white walls, but started to doubt myself if white bookcases and a white work-desk would look a bit bland.
Two questions:
- For the north facing living room which has a big bay window and high ceilings, I was considering painting one of the walls F&B Cornforth White. That's the wall that all the white furniture would be against, so it would accentuate the furniture. What do you think? My scour of the internet shows a lot of people who use Cornforth white as the actual colour and accent it with something darker, but I'm quite tied to the idea of a bright airy room and like the white.
- Hallway - is narrow and quite long with no windows. I'm considering keeping the long walls white and painting the short wall (where the door leading to the kitchen is) downpipe. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
