Rip out or 'just' re-tile shower cubicle - pricey, difficult?

We have a pokey shower cubicle in our bathroom that I hate. Was there when we moved here. One reason I dislike it is its size - the tray is only 750mm x 750mm so it's hardly roomy in there. Second, one of the three tiled walls is tiled with about 400 (yes, I counted them!) small oblong mosaic tiles and all that grout (white of course!!) is impossible to keep clean.
Depending on cost and difficulty / mess involved, I'm trying to convince DH that we need to get it re-tiled with more practical tiles OR rip the whole thing out, including partition wall, and get a shower put over the bath instead. Thoughts please, especially on costs (any ball park figures?) and effect on sale-ability of house of not having a small shower cubicle in
addition to a small bath in a small bathroom...?! Ta!

We had this too, it was dark and dingy, I hated it. We ripped ours out and put a quadrant into the same corner. is this a possibility or would the bath be in the way?

Get a few plumbers in to have a look. They might have some nice ideas that you haven't thought of.

Wet wall is the way forward for keeping the area clean! Bath store will do computer images of your bathroom if you go in and give them measurements, my mum done this recently, I'm sure other companies will too, so you can get a better idea of what will will look like with or without partition wall etc.

Bathstoreare incredibly expensive though if you go with them for fitting. We bought our bathroom from them (small bathroom 2.5 metres square containing bath shower cubicle sink and toilet). The bathroom suite cost less than £2k but for the fitting they quoted a further £9k!

It sounds as if you would be better off replacing both the bath and shower with a larger bath with a shower over it.

Yeah bath store didn't fit my mums she had her own plumbers but she did like the pictures they make up on the computer.

Bathstore quoted £11K for one of our small bathrooms.
We are now doing 2 bathrooms & a cloakroom and they are coming in at just under £9K for the 3 rooms together including building works!
We are using a local plumber/builder/tiler/electrician & bought the majority of the bathroom fittings (branded & better quality than bathstore) from a local bathroom store & the tiles from Topps Tiles.
I'd get rid of the mosaics & consider if you can get a slightly larger but different shaped unit in (quadrant or pentagon) .
I think if this is your only bathroom you'd regret losing the separate shower in the long run.
I truly hated having a shower over the bath but with a bit of a jiggling I've managed to get a quadrant in the corner & a bath, yay!
