Renewing my home insurance - can I do this?

I want to stay with the same company but obviously I get a better deal if I go as a new customer - £170 for renewal or £132.50 for a new like-for-like policy. No brainer there.

Buuut Topcashback are offering £50.50 with any new policy taken out with this provider. If I start a new policy through them do you think I will get the cashback if I have been a customer last year with a different policy?

£82 for the year if I can.

I imagine the Ts&Cs will exclude you from the deal as an existing policy holder. If they don't then you've nothing to lose.

We have had insurers honour the new customer rate when the renewal has been higher - one of those irritations as you have to ask for it.

Yes I came to the same conclusion. Never mind. I went with another company still with cashback and its come to just over £100 which is still a lot better than £170.
