What to do with knackered old sloping driveway ?

I'd be happy with gravel but it is on too much of a slope. Currently it's knackered old Tarmac. Not sure I really want new Tarmac . Don't want to spend a fortune, any ideas please?

There's a house near mine with stones set in resin.
It looks lovely but I don't think it's cheap.

it's also called bonded gravel. Looks great but needs a very good foundation surface, as if you were doing a tarmac drive, or it will sink.

It is not difficult to lay, but best to use someone who does drives and paths.

Not an itinerant with a white van and a mobile, use someone with a local phone no. and an address that you can go and look at.

Watching too. Have got same problem. Really want 20mm golden gravel to match my pathway but slope may just be too much. Am considering laying the plastic hexagonal grids first to help keep the stones in place.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention the plastic grids. I've been watching who has had their drives done for a few years now and know the two I'll get for quotes. One did my neighbour's drive over 12 years ago and it's fine.

It is very annoying it isn't flat though as I woukd be more than happy with gravel and can see anything else getting very expensive.

btw the bonded gravel I have seen has always been with small rounded pebbly stones, so would presumably be slippery if frosted or wet. It may be available with more grip. I don't I've ever driven on it on a slope. When new it looks shiny because there is adhesive on the top, but I expect this wears away. I will have a look next time I see some.

Thank you PJ. Slippery would be a total nightmare, I'd better get readung up on it.
