Please talk me down- I'm getting anxious

So after around 4 years of looking and offering and sales and purchases falling through we finally look like we are actually going to move.
We are supposed to be completing next week and I've booked packers and movers, oven cleaning, bin cleaning and carpet cleaning.

I'm still not sure we will meet the dates but I've done everything to get all paperwork done, chased things up and answer all questions.

I'm really not sure how to explain this but I'm worried about leaving thd house for the buyers. We will still live locally so our paths will cross and I'm the sort of person who worries what people will think. All the time.

Can anyone reassure me that the buyers will appreciate my cleaning and prep and overlook scuffed skirting and tatty walls and a kitchen floor that I can not get clean. These wouldn't bother me if I was them because I would have looked at everything really carefully but I'm worried they will be disappointed or upset or cross when our furniture is out and it looks all scruffy.

I know it's small potatoes but its bothering me so much that I've become grumpy mum and it wasn't helped by the DCs drawing on thd carpet with biro this morning.

Honesty, just make it look presentable and that's enough.

I have always left a new home card and a bottle of wine. I think it's good karma x

seconded with the card and wine/chocs. Also redirect post for six months.

just leave it as you would wish to find it on arrival; clean toilets and bathroom, clean kitchen, vacuumed if you get a chance. As long as they can live in it that night, that is all they will want!

redecoration etc is wear, not dirt, and they will have noticed that when they viewed.

good luck in your new home - at last!

Dont forget to read the meters!

They will be far too busy to notice any little bits and pieces.

Good luck

Thank you.
Quote for carpet cleaning was £300 , hoping we could Vanish most of it.
Was going to leave card and fizz for them, they are lovely people, and helpful numbers like the hedge man.
I am a very good worrier, thank you for calming me a little.

PLEASE do redirect your post. The people who lived here didn't at all. Just expected us to give the post to our neighbour whose mum lived near their new house Hmm

We still get the odd bit and we've been here 6 years! It goes in the bin now or 'return to sender'

Well I've taken advice from the other thread I was on- got estate agents to start liaising with all parties concerned.
Magically we now have answers to our vendor questions and our buyer is pushing for quick exchange.
I think the agents realise they may have sped things up earlier and are working on it now.
