Minimum size for kitchen diner

Mulling over whether to re-arrange my house and shift the kitchen into another room.

Is 14.8 feet by 12 feet big enough for a kitchen diner? Could put the washing machine & tumble dryer in the hall to free up some extra space.

Our table seats 6, 8 if we're pushing it.

Depends on where your windows and doors are but that should be possible

One wall is windows/door with the door into the room on the opposite wall. Would leave the rest of the space for an L shaped run of units I suppose and then one blank wall.

Not sure how costly it would be to run all the pipes down one floor and to the opposite end of the house. Probably a lot!

Get some graph paper. Plot out the potential room to scale. Draw on wherever you want a run of units and the kitchen table. Allow around 1m clearance around the table. It's surprisingly easy and you'll know instantly if it looks right.

you can save a lot of space if you have a bench against a wall for one part of your dining seating - no need to push chairs back and can look great with cushions

if you only have L shape units that leaves 9.8' x 7' if you take into account 2' units and 3' space to walk around one side of table. if you then allow 3' the other side of table too it means your table can't be larger than 6.8' x 4'
