You can fry your eggs and bacon for your Sunday morning brekkie without even getting out of bed. What's not to love?

hyperspacebug · 03/06/2014 20:38

I was hoping it was because of nice street. Just looked at Google Street View....right on estate. That's even worse....

Giddypants · 03/06/2014 20:45

Even my teenagers turned their noses up! It must be bad! Grin.

Seriously, though it is absolute madness that anyone would pay that to live there!

hyperspacebug · 03/06/2014 20:50

I mean, what kind of person would go for this? A person too poor won't be able to afford and a person who can afford this kind of rent would go for it onlt if it were in Kensington?

burnishedsilver · 03/06/2014 20:52

I think it's disgraceful that a landlord is allowed to classify that as habitable and rentable. It takes some nerve to charge someone to live in a cupboard.

hyperspacebug · 03/06/2014 20:59

Is there a limit here to how small a habitat can be? I heard in France there is a legal limit, not that it has stopped some Paris landlords...

CatsCantTwerk · 03/06/2014 21:00

I want it!!!

antimatter · 03/06/2014 21:00

Studio flats in that area are 250K

but this is not even JOKE

mind you ppl are subletting their garden sheds to tenants - hard to say what's worst Sad

hyperspacebug · 03/06/2014 21:01

It's mentioned in the Guardian and people did snap it up apparently (although it didn't say full price ;) www.theguardian.com/money/2014/jun/03/shoebox-studio-flat-london-renters-hours

Neutral deco and laminated floor boards through out.

Had to laugh at this. "laminated floor boards though out"... what, like all 4 boards or so? Hmm

hyperspacebug · 03/06/2014 21:03

yes, I had good chuckle at laminated floor :)

SecretSpy · 03/06/2014 21:05

I am stunned.

Its a poky kitchen with a bed in it and what do you want to bet it's not even a full size single.

But I am ooop north where I could pay my mortgage three times for that money and get an aldi food shop with the change.

ChishandFips33 · 03/06/2014 21:07

I thought you had to have two doors between kitchen and bathroom - and not cupboard doors!

This is so sad and bloody expensive

Kewcumber · 03/06/2014 21:10

no doubt the 'en suite' is a cheap B&Q bucket under the sink

Nope, I think the "en suite" is the sink.

Whitershadeofpale · 03/06/2014 21:17

I work at a London hospital and many of the registrars and fellows live in places not dissimilar, they have no real choice as they need to be based near the hospital when they're on call. It's disgusting really and to make it worse, I couldn't even afford that! This is why single people are either living with their parents much later or living in student style shared houses.

If you earn a moderate salary it's impossible to live well in London, you have to either earn a very high wage of little enough to receive benefit top-ups like tax credits.

Tabithasgran · 04/06/2014 09:54

omg I can't believe that!

agnesgrey · 04/06/2014 12:29

It could have gone to someone who lives elsewhere but works in London regularly and £736 is less than they would pay per month on hotels. Ie they just need a bed for the night and to be able to make a cup of tea / breakfast etc.
