The heating isn't on but I just walked into the dining room and noticed the radiator leaking by the valve at the bottom but not sure whereabouts from.
It's not much, I've put a Tupperware tub there and it's just drip.... Drip..... Drip...

I'm no good at this groan up stuff

It doesn't sound like you've had much practice at DIY plumbing, so ask around friends and neighbours for a recommendation. Don't use advertising websites or yellow pages. Don't phone a non geographic number. Don't use doorsteppers or use letterbox flyers.

A leaking radiator does not need a boiler engineer or gasman. An old plumber can do it and should have a lower hourly rate.

Maybe the pipe has been banged, e.g. by the hoover, maybe the bottom seam on the raduator has rusted through, maybe the valve was badly fitted without PTFE tape, maybe the bleeding screw has been undone and was not fully tightened, maybe the radiator valve is 50 years old and is worn out through being frequently opened and closed.
