can you recommend any comfy dining room chairs?

Currently have an inherited set from somewhere or other. Supposed to have a seat pad but it's just plain uncomfortable. In laws have plain pine which are hard, uncomfortable and I'm forever slipping down in.

Would like something padded or at least some element of softness. Maybe slightly high backed. But not chunky and heavy as I'll end up cutting of my toes and bashing my knees

Any ideas?

We have Ikea Henriksdal chairs - we like them and I don't think they're very heavy. Also useful to be able to change the covers easily.

They sound good, esp being able to change covers

Anyone else???

The eames copies of the DSW chair that we have are fab.

Light, not chunky, and very comfortable to sit on (plus they sell pads to match if you want them, but I find you don't need them)

We sit on them every morning and evening for breakfast and dinner and are much nicer for long periods of sitting than my old leather things.

Beaver, do you mind if I ask where you got them from?

I bought mine from ebay.

Was originally going to egg them from cult furniture as have got many a good item there before, but ebay ones were a bargain

Second the IKEA ones - was going to "upgrade" when we moved house but they are comfortable and easy to clean.

I've been looking for dining chairs for 2 years! Ridiculous. Can't find the right thing. Going to get the Hendriksal too as they seem comfortable. Had fabric before and it is hard to keep clean with children but they are cheap enough to replace the covers after a couple of years.

Covers also wash well and dry quickly - did mine for the first time in 3 years last month Blush
