We've built the units - now we just (!) have to fit them. I'd be very grateful for any tips from people who've installed their own kitchens please! We're getting the joiner to do the worktops so no worries there - just want to get it right...

My top tip would be to go on You Tube and have a look for specific advice there. There's bound to be lots with helpful videos on where to start, how to get everything lined up, etc.

Thanks, I have done but most of them are American videos. Would love to hear from someone who's done a B&Q one!

If an L shape, start in the corner of the L and work outwards.
Use a baton on the wall to level the units to, one for the bottom cabinets, one for the top.
Fit all cabinets first, then add doors, drawers etc
fairly simple if followed logically

Thanks Carol. Bottom or wall units first? This is what we can't decide and I can't find an answer to!

Bottom units first definitely.

We did bottom first because we did not have a full row of tops units. Needed the bottom in place first to line up the top units.
Could be slightly harder to do top when bottom in place as you cannot get too close to the wall, but if you have a batten, you can rest the top units on it whilst screwing so not a big issue
Again on the top units, we lined up the extracter over the hob first and worked outwards both sides.
