Kitchen and Utility share an internal wall which includes a chimney breast. Kitchen side has an open grate. Utility side has a (non-condensing) oil boiler.
If we decided to replace the boiler with a condensing model we would need a flue for that. Due to a combination of listed, conservation area and neighbour positioning, putting a new flue for a boiler through an external wall could prove tricky.
Are any of the following options?
- Open grate remains, new flue for boiler goes up same chimney
- Open grate swapped for solid fuel stove. Boiler and stove share a flue
- Open grate swapped for solid fuel stove. Boiler and stove each have own flue up shared chimney
