Worktop resurfacing

We've been looking at different ways of breathing a bit of new life into our kitchen without spending a fortune as it will all be ripped out in a couple of years. In the meantime, however, it does look a bit rough, including very worn laminate worktops.

Has anyone had their worktops relaminated, or resurfaced? I've seen a few companies doing this kind of thing on line, but wondered whether it was any good? I'd definitely not be confident of doing it myself!

TIA

I'd be inclined to just replace the worktops - you should be able to do it fairly cheaply. If you speak to a joiner they can generally get hold of reasonably priced worktops & fit them for you. We did this in our current house when we first moved in as we couldn't afford to replace the kitchen & the worktops were foul. Can't remember how much it was but thinking a few hundred £s?
