Do valuations for remortgage take into account decorative state?

We are remortgaging and switching lender. Not long ago we had some work done on some damp in the sitting room-it's a fairly small area but we haven't repainted it yet so there's a patch of wall that's plastery-peach instead of tasteful, matte grey! Valuation's being done next week. Is it worth us doing the painting this weekend? I'd rather leave it a bit longer as I want to keep an eye on it and be certain the damp won't be coming back through (am paranoid) but equally don't want the value being affected by it looking a bit crap.

No it won't matter. A lot of remortgage valuations are done by drive by/ desktop methods but even if the valuer enters your property he will be looking for structural not cosmetic purposes for remortgage. He will look up what other properties in the area have sold for recently and this will be the main factor.

Something like that won't affect it. If the whole house is 60s decor then it will.

I like to think we've got good taste...who knows though?!
