Architect's plans just have a couple of small doors.
There has to be a better plan right?

Thanks.

There are some fantastic ideas on Pinterest. Just type storage under eaves in the search box.

Thanks
I've had a look on there, but it would be great to know what works in practice. I have form for spending money on overly complex solutions to simple problems :)

We had eaves storage in our previous house and had doors. However it was in bedrooms and we had no furniture in front of the doors. It depends how often you need to get into the storage. If it is to be used every day or occasionally? If occasionally, doors may be well be ok. You could possibly look at sliding doors. If you want eaves storage you have to have access somewhere and I think your choices are fairly limited. I would consider how you fit out the storage because just having it as a glory hole can make reaching the far ends of it challenging - and I speak from experience!

Depends on what you want to use it for. If it is really for bog standard storage of Christmas decorations and old baby clothes then doors are the best option. Sliding doors make sense if space is an issue in front of the storage but remember that will limit the size of your opening (only one door can be open at a time vs. having both fully open for larger items).

If you have a cellar or someplace else to store that sort of thing, then deep built in drawers / shoe racks are a great for the person using the bedroom.

We've got doors all along both sides of our boarded loft - having little ones or not enough would have made it much less useful.

Hi can anyone recommend a company to supply sliding doors for under eaves please?

We have flush sliding doors along the entire eaves walls. They are currently painted white, but have in the past been painted with blackboard paint and used accordingly. We use the space to store holiday suitcases, boxes of much loved but no longer played with toys (like my 22 year old son's collection of Star Wars toys), and my boxes of fabric.
