Ooooh I've lived in Crowthorne for 9 years and love it! I'm originally from London and had been living in Kent when we decided to move to Crowthorne despite knowing nothing about it. No regrets at all, it's a brilliant place to bring up children, the schools are great (the secondary school Edgbarrow is outstanding and people move here purely to get into catchment). What specifically do you want to know about Crowthorne? And can you say whereabouts in Crowthorne you are thinking of moving to, which road?

I've just realised how late it is so you aren't likely to respond to my question above so I'll just tell you some other good stuff about Crowthorne! It is a safe, low-crime area with a genuine feeling of there being a community spirit, lots of community events (Carnival, May-fair, Christmas shopping night, mini-markets etc). Whilst it is a large village (population over 6000), it is still classed as a village and has that friendly 'everyone knows everyone' feel to it. It's a really interesting place in terms of its history and has some beautiful Victorian and Edwardian houses and buildings in amongst the more prevalent post-1960s houses. Of course Crowthorne is home to Broadmoor which I can understand might seem like a bit of a strange neighbour if you're not used to having one of the country's highest security hospitals on your doorstep! Broadmoor is actually beautiful as a building (although it's being re-built at the moment and the original Victorian building will be developed into something else..a hotel I think). Apart from the Broadmoor siren being tested every Monday morning at 10am, it is easy to forget Broadmoor is there! Crowthorne is very green, full of trees and woodland and lots of open space and great places for walks/cycling etc nearby. Crowthorne was voted the second best place to live in the whole of the UK last year!! It's close enough to M3 and M4 to make it a great place to commute to other areas from yet far enough away from them for it to feel peaceful and quiet. I love Crowthorne as you can tell!
