Pendant lights in vaulted ceiling kitchen - new build

We've just realised that before the scaffolding comes down in our vaulted ceiling kitchen, we should get our (temporary cheap!) pendants hung. Have to hurry as the painters finish tomorrow afternoon & scaffolding has to be removed then. Trouble is we have no idea at what height these should hang. There will only bd two & it's a large room. V bright as has a huge window at the front (SE facing) & two sets of French doors facing East. Not directly over table or island so no chance of bumping heads. Any ideas of a standard recommended height?

Sorry to drip feed; DH has just come in with more detail! The room is approx 5m high & also has a huge Velux. It's 5mx8m & will also have. 2 up lighters, a 5amp circuit, spotlights on a cantilevered section at the back (darker) area & spots under kitchen cupboards.

I think you really just have to have someone stand up there and hang it and see what looks right - my last kitchen had exactly this - and probably a little bit higher and it was only really by hanging them up there that we could just what would look right - we had huge pendants too so it was crucial that they were the right height.

I have an orangery kitchen where the apex of the roof is about 4.5m. The room is also a similar size. We had spots on wires over the island and they are about 2.5m off the floor. In other words about standard ceiling height in the adjoining room. I think I would hang pendants at a similar height. This would be the lower edge of the pendant. Much higher will not give you as much benefit from the lights unless they are multi-bulb.
