Just had a quote for Karndean for long lounge...hall ....and downstairs cloakroom.

Like the look of winter oak long planks quite dark ....anyone have large areas of Karndean? What is your honest opinion as oppose to a good quality laminate.

Would love wood but want something more maintenance free.

Many thanks for any views.

We have hall, sitting room, dining room (all these the same macrocapra) and kitchen (slate tile effect) in Karndean, and have had it for 5 years now. Still looks great.
A friend has dark oak through her (huge) kitchen/diner/conservatory and is v happy.

In a previous house we had engineered wood, and that was much noisier, marked more easily and was harder to clean

CMO thanks that's a good sign if all still looking good after 5 years....do you use their own cleaning products? Are you ok to Hoover over it with regards to marking.

Many thanks

No, we just use flash tbh. It gets the dirt brushed up and then mopped.

Decide what one you want then source it online. Chances are, you'll save £££. We bought Polyflor (similar but cheaper brand) and saved around £500 by buying online.

Thanks....just looked online could buy the flooring for around 750 pounds....quote with fitting was 3000! May buy online and find a fitter!

From memory, I think our fitting cost about the same as the material so you could make a saving (there is a lot if work in fitting it tho - and see if you can get a reco as qualify of for makes all the difference).
