Good bathroom brands

Having been underwhelmed by the 1st fancy pants bathroom showroom layout I'm seeing someone new tomorrow. He runs a plumbers merchant & has recently branched out into design. The 1st place only stocked limited brands (steered toward V&B which is beyond our budget). This chap can get most brands at a decent price.
We've had Ideal Standard in the past but I wonder what other mid range firms are out there?

We went with Roca and Bauhaus for sinks and bathroom furniture and Saneux for all our sanitaryware (toilets and bidet) - very good quality and the prices were reasonable (mind you - I had looked at so many bathroom catalogues and visited several plumbers merchants for our recent house refurbishment which involved 4 new bathrooms to kit out that at one point I just decided I've had enough). For taps and shower fittings, you can't go wrong with Hansgrohe - very stylish and well-made (though a bit on the expensive side, but I hope we don't have to replace them anytime soon).

our bog in a box and basin in a box (that's the brand names!) seem to work fine! £70 each including all fittings.

Roca looks like a good range for us, thanks

Have a look at www.boundarybathrooms.co.uk. They sell lots of good brands & don't overcharge for delivery. I have used them recently & been happy with them.

We have Roca and they are superb. Really good quality not plasticky at all. And Butler taps

Aquilisa showers, Bristan taps.

Subject to your personal sense of style.

p.s.

Please don't get a WC cistern with two little buttons on the lid, or that is boxed and tiled in.

What about a brand called Pura PJ?
The bathroom bloke said they were made in the same factory as V&B.

another vote for Roca, we have them in our house and they are really sturdy.

They are extremely tiresome when they go wrong.

specialsubject · 09/04/2014 21:55

like most things....

just wondered if there was something I didn't know here?

toastedteacake · 09/04/2014 22:54

We have Grohe taps (not Hansgrohe) and I would recommend them.

Also have Roca sanitary ware and it is very good quality.

We have been able to get Roca and Grohe at very reduced prices by ordering off T'internet. Always a lot cheaper than our plumber could get at the local merchants.

Have you tried to get hold of a normal lever flush recently? Unless the toilet is froufrou and fake Edwardian traditional style the push buttons are everywhere (EU water saving regulations I think).

Quite Grin and vindicated that PigletJohn disapproves of them though, the sales people all think I'm weird and overdemanding when I say I have to have a lever flush (Roca Laura is the only modern loo that offers the option apparently)
