Echoey kitchen

We have had a new kitchen put in and it's fab - but it's really echoey. What can I do to stop the echoeyness? It has tiled floor and I suppose it is a large, open space now, but not massive. Any suggestions?

books, rugs, curtains, blinds....any of those?

We're in the process of getting blinds - I wasn't sure if they would help. Could put a rug in the kitchen but worried it would be ruined by spillages etc.

You need soft things to absorb the sounds like Catsmamma says. Also textured wallpaper can help, but this also absorbs a lot of light so can make the room feel darker.

Stuff.

Give it a month and if you're anything like me there will be enough shit in it to start another kitchen

Ha ha - Laurie that's probably true! I have a spare rug so might try that downstairs to see if it helps a bit.
