Did you immediately love your house when you viewed it and knew it was 'the one'?

On a role with threads at the moment.

As the title really. Did you love it or grow into it? Did you immediately know? I have known the ones I didn't like straight away. Others are nice but not 100% sure. Do you make sure you are 100%?

Just realised this is pretty similar to my other thread. Sorry.

Yes, immediately when I saw the 2 inches about it in the paper. When I went to get the details from the estate agent it had already sold, but they persuaded me to put my flat on the market, so I'd be ready if something else came along. My flat sold immediately, I couldn't find a house I liked though and was ready to give up completely, when the sale fell through and my house came back - £10k cheaper as they were in a desperate hurry to sell by then.

Since then I've fallen in and out of love a few times, it's taken more work than I ever dreamed. It was the right house despite everything.

I hated the inside of this house but it had more outside space than any of the others and a separate annexe with an office and a workshop so we put the business first and went for it and i can't imagine living anywhere else now.

We knew after a 15 minute viewing. We weren't actually house hunting either!

It's not a dream house but it is perfect for us. We've got to fix lots of problems that we knew about and completely redecorate. Then I will love it.

I knew straight away. If I was building a house in my price band I would have designed it exactly the same. I saw the kitchen and couldn't believe getting the house was actually a possibility. I've lived here 9 months now so through pretty much every season and love it more each day.

Not love, but it ticked the boxes.

It's plain and 1960s. It 's our first house and we were really looking for practicality overall. It's in a slightly different area to where most first time buyers round here look. It's a bit further away from the shops etc but we can see fields with horses in from the upstairs windows. The house has neither charm nor character, but it was a great size, nice, clean, very neutral decor, didn't need a lot doing to it, nice peaceful family area, not posh but safe and friendly. Affordable. Good sized garden rather than a concrete backyard which we'd have got if we'd looked in the usual area. And we love the layout of the house more than the usual 1st time buyer terraces.

It's not our "forever house" as they say on TV. But it's home. We're not rich so I doubt we'll ever be able to afford to live in a house that we're "in love" with. But eventually we'll find something bigger and better.

Very much so, we knew as soon as we pulled up on the drive.
It needs work, but the views and location are perfect Smile
