New bathroom - Homebase, B&Q, Wickes - your experiences please

I have to choose a bathroom supplier pdq. I also have the option of an independent who seems great, but will probably be a bit slower and a bit more expensive but worth it.

So, any tips, experiences, recommendations?

After much deliberation - I mean, 4 years of deliberation - we've committed to B&Q for our new bathroom.

Some hiccups so far, despite not having started fitting it yet. And here's my blog documenting the experience. Feel free to share...

Steer well clear of Homebase. We had their "best fitter" - useless - thought we were buying Schreiber - it wasn't - in fact it was also rubbish - never got a basin, 106 post-its and photos of bad fitting, 10 months of mis-management or total lack of it - never any replies from MD office - eventually got money back from credit card and had much better job and quality buying Calypso furniture and sanitary ware from local plumbers' merchant and good local plumber/installer to fit at £1000 less than Homebase, with hardly any mess, and workmen who asked what we wanted rather than just bodging it all in
