1.7m x 1.2m - how do I fit in wc, basin and shower

been looking at the ideal standard space range but am getting myself in a right pickle with having enough space to do all the necessary functions without bashing elbows and heads. the space also narrows to just over 1m where the outward opening door will be.

can anyone help before I go mad??

What about having a shower wet room instead? So no cubicle, just a glass panel?

MrsTaraPlumbing · 31/01/2014 14:46

All so there are some ranges of really small baths, toilets and basins - if they suit you. You can even get small corner toilets and corner basins.

Sorry no time to post links

MrsTaraPlumbing · 31/01/2014 14:47

I would go for the wetroom option, though

toomuchtooyoung · 31/01/2014 14:49

would that help fit it all in? if it needs a glass panel that still takes up room? have also seen some threads about poorly constructed wet rooms....just can't get my head around it all!

I would be weary of the wet room tbh in a small area. We had that in a flat we rented and it was a nightmare! The room was so small so all the floor got wet when you had a shower and in winter it just never dried completely so you had to always wear slippers in there.

It was horrible too for visitors too.

only want shower, this is for the downstairs

We had this in our old house. Loo at one end, shower at other end with glass screen across and a small sink with a bottle trap in the middle.

Worked really well.

We have this. Loo one end (concealed cistern and storage over) on long wall. Washhandbasin opposite loo (storage under). Shower on same wall as loo with controls on short side wall. Slightly longer than wide. Towel rail / radiator on side wall behind door. Works really well. Entrance to right of washhandbasin / in front of shower.

You can get slip proof tiles. I would google small wet rooms for ideas of layout?

If you have a second main bathroom then keep the DCs out?

OnePlanOnHouzz · 01/02/2014 11:01

Seen wet rooms with UFH to dry up the wet floor - need all the correct stuff to do it as electrics and water etc etc - so not a DIY job - but a good idea if it's budget able !

toomuchtooyoung · 01/02/2014 15:10

don't want to keep dcs out as its mainly for them (me) so don't have to keep going up and down stairs for endless wees Smile

already have wet ufh and planning to extend to new area, also might steal a bit of room.from the garage

think I can fit it all in now

I have a wet room with under floor heating. The tiles aren't slippy and the floor dries quickly.

Frozenatchristmas · 02/02/2014 08:36

Have your door so it opens out rather than in.
