Can I put a tumble dryer in the cupboard that houses the boiler in our bathroom?

It is the only space we have that might suit. We have a combi boiler in the same cupboard and it is next to an external wall so presumably we would have to get some kind of flue for escaping steam?

If you decide to I would put a smoke alarm very close by! Wink

A condenser dryer, yes.

You could use a vented drier if you (or a builder) use a core drill to make a neat round hole in the wall. It is the same!e size as is used for the duct of a bathroom extractor fan. You are generally not allowed to have electrical sockets in UK bathrooms even if they are inside a cupboard, because of course you can open the cupboard door. You can probably have a fused flex outlet with no plug. It must be RCD protected and fitted by an electrician who is a member of a competent persons scheme.

How many metres will it be from the footprint of a fixed bath or shower?

Cucumberscarecrow · 25/01/2014 21:01

Thanks Piglet. It will only be about 0.5 metres from the footprint of the bath.

I have a condenser dryer and it's excellent, would that be possible!

less than 600mm will be too close unless it is rated as sufficiently water-resistant (which it won't be)
