Storage heater in the kitchen - remove?

We've recently moved into a 3 bed modern flat (c2000, 72sqm) which is all electric and has storage heaters in the hall, living room and kitchen. The bedrooms have panel heaters.

After sweltering for a couple of days I switched off the storage heater in the kitchen. It's not a big room and even at the lowest possible setting was making the room far too warm.

The other two storage heaters we've kept on for now, at about half the maximum setting. If we keep the all doors open during the day the heat from the hall and living room heats the whole place to a good temperature and we've yet to use any of the panel heaters.

I can't think of a reason why we need a storage heater in the kitchen? It's not a room you'd sit in for any length of time (the only table there's space for is one of those little wall-mounted folding ones from Ikea), and it's taking up valuable wall space that could be used for something else - a bigger table for example. I guess we could replace it with a small panel heater nearer the door if necessary, but the hall storage heater heats the kitchen too.

Am I missing something here? There's been no condensation problem with some rooms being unheated. I air all the rooms daily and like I say, a lot of the time the doors are left open so the warm air circulates.

Next thing is to switch off the living room heater. I suspect the hall one will heat the whole place fine. Still missing my controllable gas ch Hmm

Also, removal of a storage heater - is this something you'd want to employ someone to do or is it a diy thing?
