Glass Pocket Doors - recommendations?

Has anyone had experience of installing a glass pocket sliding door in their house??

Having our main bedroom remodelled with an ensuite attached. To save space we need to install a sliding pocket door between the two rooms and would like to have a frosted glass panel.

The two main manufacturers of complete packages are Eclisse and Portman, but I've so far been unable to find these in a local showroom to see how good they are.

Does anyone have one of these systems or used a different type they would recommend? Thanks.

I have a pocket door frame from Eclisse, not a glass one though, it is excellent quality.

What are your walls made of? Pocket doors are more common in the US because they have hollow walls.

So I guess that pocket doors behind the boxed-in-RSJ wouldn't work...unless we unboxed & created an artificial hollow?

We're having new stud partition walls installed - my understanding is the Eclisse system fits into 100mm cavity.

I have an Eclisse double door setup, but again - not glass.
I have a recurring problem with one of the doors not sitting straight, but I suspect it is fitting/kids messing with them rather than the system, which is pretty straight forward.
You are meant to be able to take the track out easily for maint/repairs but I can't work it out and have to fiddle around with the fixings to sort it.
I do really like them though - when I had the extension done I was trying to work out which way I wanted the doors to open, and if didn't want them either way! The pocket door system means the doors can be opened in the day (between lounge and playroom) so the kids feel close to me but their stuff stays in the playroom, then I can just shut it off at night.

We have recently installed a glass pocket door from Eclisse, we got ours from Ironmongery Direct website as they had a 20% off offer at that time (last Nov) - this is the website here www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/products/sliding_door_hardware/pocket_door_systems/13458/eclisse_8mm_complete_glass_pocket_door_system_

You will need a good fitter/joiner to install it properly, as apparently it is not such a straighforward job to do it yourself. Our joiner built us a hollow wall into which the glass door can slide smoothly. We are happy with the finished product, it is space saving and lets the light through.
One thing to consider though is that you can't put a door lock on it (as opposed to a wooden normal door), but we are fine with this, as the door is to a study/office. If you're considering it for an en-suite bathroom, you may be also OK - or not :-)!
