1950s fireplace. What to do??

Just moved and want to start decorating the lounge. There is an original 1950s grey tiled fireplace in the room, which I do actually like. It's just too big for what I want to do to the room. So what do you suggest? eBay, sell it to. A reclaim place or just trash it? As I really want a fireplace on the room afterwards..just not sure what sort. I have looked on Pintrest. So really after some inspiration. Thanks

SalvoWEB I think is a good place to sell these kinds of things ... like ebay but specifically for salvaged bits and pieces. You could try ebay as well of course.

I wouldn't bother with trying to sell it local fireplace shops, I tried this with a Victorian marble one (so probably a bit more mainstream than yours! although it was red marble...) but nobody was interested.

Having said all that, I suspect it may well break when you try to remove it Sad so I'd see if you can get it off in one piece before advertising it.

Also do you have space to store it while you're waiting for offers (as this kind of thing can take a while to sell)

Thanks mini. I shall have a look at salvo. Yes, can store it in the garage for a while but agree that these things can take ages. We advertised a cabin bed before Xmas on pre loved with a specific date for it be be gone by-we were moving house-we have had three enquires this week about it !
