How much did you pay for built-in wardrobes?

A how long is a piece of string question I realise but to maximise space in our 3 smallish bedrooms, we're considering built-in wardrobes but I have no idea how much these cost. Anyone got a ballpark figure or can let me know what they paid?

My mil paid around 2k ish for hers, it has 3 doors and some built in drawers inside.

We found them too expensive and our ikea pax wardrobes arrive on Sat. £300 for a 3 door with one pull out box and one shoe holder thingy.

I spent a grand just kitting out the interior of 3 existing cupboards with shelves, rails, centre divider, 2x drawers and a pull out shoe shelf thing... all MDF. all reasonably large, to the extent that makes a difference with MDF. Without the drawers would have been much cheaper.

We recently fitted IKEA Pax (floor to ceiling) in our bedroom, DH did the fitting himself so no cost there. Cost of wardrobes etc and all interiors was approx £1k

We had a quote from Hammonds to do exactly the same for £3k.

If you can fit yourself, I don't think you can beat IKEA for value, they will help you with design if you go in there with your measurements and can do you a 3d image so you can get a proper idea of what it will look like.

If fitting yourself isn't an option, the designer visit & quote from Hammonds was free, he also did us some 3d images. Maybe get someone out to have a look for you to get an idea of costs?

I was quoted over £2k just for one bedroom but I was going for the italian high gloss finish then realised the inside would just be usual MDF so all I was paying for were the doors. Decided to go with a PAX system as its miles cheaper and if I want the built in look will look to employ a carpenter to help make it look built in but covering any gaps at the top with pdf that I will paint

Depends. I got a carpenter to build one in dc's room and it cost £550, with a large hanging space, shelves, an extra small cupboard space and two drawers. I had to paint it myself.
