Bathroom showrooms London

Hi, our bathroom requires serious updating. We are doing the kitchen too and while there are lots of kitchen showrooms in London, I can't find as many bathroom places other than the boring high street chains. I will go to C P Hart tomorrow but likely to be out if budget. I have been to Aston Matthews in Islington but was surprised how small it was and it didn't give me much of an idea of the final look IYSWIM. Can anyone recommend a large-ish bathroom showroom in London or proximity to it? Thanks.

West one bathrooms (not sure which is their largest branch though! some are quite small)

Burge and Gunson in Morden, fairly large

there's also these people in n London but I've never been there.

OP I don't know about you but I'm finding bathrooms or at least choosing a suitable bathroom a bit of a nightmare. There seems to be endless choice and also a huge variations on price especially between showers and taps. Much of it is so samish. It seems much harder unlike choosing a kitchen, it's easier to quantify what you get for your money with kitchen appliances I can clearly see and feel the difference between a Miele fridge freezer and a hotpoint fridge freezer but it's not so obvious with basins and loos. I've plonked round a few showrooms and looked endlessly on line but I'm still unsure what to have, I keep coming back to CP Hart but £500 for a basin tap seems a lot to me.

The advantage of somewhere independent like Burge and Gunson is they don't sell their own stuff, they sell lots of different manufacturers so can advise on whether higher price actually gets you better quality and so on. their websites tend to be less helpful though, you really need to go and look around.

IME there are some brands with a reputation for quality engineering, for which it is worth paying a bit extra - for example Grohe taps should last really well and their showers have all the modern features you might want. They are a bit more expensive than your basic tap. However £500 is waaay more than that (a Grohe tap would be about £80-100) so I suspect with the £500 tap you're paying for the designer look rather than any extra quality.

Bathrooms are not easy, I'm just beginning to think about ours as planning a refit later this year. Maybe we can hand hold.

Thank you so much. I hadn't come across Burge and Gunson but will definitely check them out. The place in NW10 looka great too.

I am finding bathrooms to be a real minefield. We put in a shower room in our old place and ended up getting a shower screen which was so cheap but had great reviews on the store's website. It was a bit of a gamble but looked as decent and good quality as the £1000 ones we had seen and was a mere £149!! Now we are in our forever house so don't mind paying a reasonable amount to do up the bathrooms (ensuite plus family one) for quality stuff but no point paying over the odds if the quality doesn't justify it.

So far i have been focusing on the vanity and can find nothing i like. Floating ones aren't really to my taste. I want a floor standing one with mouldings and nice knobs. Higham Kitchens do bathroom furniture as well and I may end up going bespoke with them. Not sure of the price though but I have read on here that there kitchens are reasonably priced. higham.co.uk/gallery/bathrooms/

just came across these people who do beautiful traditional vanities. Probably cost an arm and a leg mind you.

another option, and probably what we will do, is to get a joiner/cabinet maker to build us one for the space. we also want some drawers built under the eaves.

Wow, wow, wow! Love them minipie. Charleston is exactly the look I am after. Don't love the price though.... Yes, I reckon a joiner or bespoke furniture maker is the way to go.

If you find a good one, he should be able to copy the charleston design - the wooden bits anyway.
