Aargh I've got 36hours till someone coming to view our house. Please help me prioritise what to do.
Will be decluttering window sills and shelves like crazy and tidying up obviously.
Should I 'dress' beds with throw/ cushions?
Flowers?
Do I need to take Christmas cards down?
Kids paintings on walls I'm planning to leave (just in kitchen) as they have young kids.
Dh thinks tidying garden is most important but I think that's less of an issue at this time of year.
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

I agree about tidying the garden being up there on the list. Make it look like it's no trouble to keep up (especially if they have kids).

Personally, I'd get some flowers, tidy up and make it look like a beautiful version of everyday. I don't see the point in "dressing" everything - waste of time and money if you ask me - because I wouldn't notice that stuff as a buyer.

Most important thing of all: make sure it smells nice. Needn't be a strong smell, probably best not, but no nasty smells anywhere. Instant turn-off.

No pets thankfully! However I do have 2 in washable nappies- should I hide nappy buckets (they don't smell but maybe don't look nice?)

tidy garden is a must, otherwise it says 'we can't be arsed to look after this place'. Ditto any unfinished maintenance.

should not smell of anything and the unpleasant bits of everyday life should not be visible. So hide the nappy buckets, do all the washing up and clear the surfaces in the kitchen. Make and straighten the beds and find the floor - stuff everywhere says 'not enough storage'.

cards and drawings can stay up though!

Ok thanks
Sending dh out to buy some nice soap/flowers etc
He's done a bit of tidying in garden (is pretty tidy anyway tbh)
I will think of somewhere out of sight to put buckets and nappy stuff
Typical can't get baby to sleep or I'd be doing stuff now!
