How much space should there be between a cooker and fridge/frezzer?

Or should they be kept well apart?

I have seen some kitchen designs (eg In new builds) where they put them next to each other - but obviously this is not desirable if you actually intend to use the oven.
Reason - as the oven gives off heat the fridge freezer must work harder to keep cool.
Ideally there should also be clear space both sides of a bob - for handles and pans to be removed from heat. I have seen hobs immediately next to tall cupboard or wall - this should be avoided.

Thsnks. I googled this and the first answer was an old Mumsnet thread Smile.

I want to remove my larder and move my f\f into the space. There will be a gap of about 1/4 to 1/2 a metre left between them.

Regs are 30cm's from any edge/walkway, tall housing etc

If they are both counter-height appliances, a 100mm gap will do. You can put your oven gloves, towel and trays in there. If it is a tall appliance next to a hob, the hob manufacturer will specify space above and beside to prevent fires, but you need 600mm of worktop either side of a hob for tools, dishes, ingredients, putting pans down.
