We have just renovated our whole 1930s house and like imme above we have chosen colours to suit the room. We've also chosen F&B colours but matched them with Johnson's trade and our overall effect is period-modern hybrid!
I hate yellow walls (especially pale) so I would steer well clear of those...
Here are the colours we chose, I love them all!
Living room - Borrowed Light - beautiful pale blue, it looks amazing with our fireplace, white alcove units and restored floorboards.
Hallway - Skylight (blue/grey) at the bottom and Blackened (pale grey) on top of dado. Goes really well with the repo victorian-style-ish blue patterned tiles we've put in the hall which I LOVE a bit too much to be healthy!!
Loft hallway - just Blackened as no dado rail
Bathrooms - Strong White and Skimming Stone (latter on wooden panelling) - they are very close in colour (greige?), might have chosen more of a contrast but still looks good with our roll top bath.
Our large bedroom in loft conversion - Borrowed Light again, and again looks gorgeous!
Kids (unisex) bedroom - not F&B actually, it's called Porcelain Blue by Craig and Rose, really love it, very vibrant and also calming. We are going for a Cath Kidston/seaside/bunting feel to this room.
Kids playroom/occasional guest room - last minute decision to choose Cooking Apple Green and couldn't be happier with it - wonderful colour and makes the toys zing if that doesn't sound terribly wanky! We chose the friheten hot pink/cerise sofa bed for guests and it looks fantastic against the green. It's a lovely playroom and will be tested out as a guest room for first time this weekend!
Spare box bedroom/study - Calluna, lovely pale lilac.
We have picture rails with white above and on ceiling in all of the above rooms (not loft or hall) - we put them in and they transformed the colour schemes, def worth it.
Kitchen diner - only room we haven't painted yet - the units are Howdens Burford Grey which are a lovely pale green colour so we are going to go for a white or off white to make the room nice and bright. If we'd gone for white units I would have picked Theresa Green or Cooking Apple Green again as think they look brilliant in kitchens.
I loved searching for F&B colours on Houzz... Well I half loved it and it half drove me mad! Great resource though!
Good luck, lot of decisions to make in one go, remember it well!!
