Marmoleum or vinyl for hallway and kitchen?

We're doing up a 1960s townhouse and have kind of decided on wood/engineered wood on 1st and 2nd floors but need advice on ground floor.

Would Marmoleum, rubber or vinyl look awful? I asked the flooring lady in Johnny Lewis and she looked at my strangely.

I like the Harvey Maria www.harveymaria.co.uk/Floor-Range/Pattern_2/Parquet-Charcoal

We have Marmoleum in our kitchen. It was laid 13years ago and still looks brand new. We had some carpet laid in another room recently by the same people who did the kitchen, they took photos of our Marmoleum to go on their website. Best flooring ever!

We also have Marmoleum in the kitchen. It is great - easy to clean, wears well, and is good to stand on. We have vinyl in DCs bedroom and the bathroom. It was in the house when we moved in. I hate it - it is impossible to get properly clean and seems to show the dust much more,

I'm quite confident about the Marmoleum or vinyl in the kitchen - it's the hallway part that I'm very unsure about ie from the front door all the way to and including the kitchen would be the same. It's a townhouse.
