Lime stone floor and dogs

I want to put a limestone floor down in my kitchen and utility room (which opens onto my garden which is paved so little mud) but I have had different opinions on this. Some say it will get spoilt and therefore I should put down porcelain tiles and have shown me ones that look nearly as good and are in fact so good there only £10 a square metre cheaper but harder wearing. Others say professionally sealed limestone is hard wearing. I'm not house proud so not frantically cleaning the floor every week day.
Any thoughts?

I am a massive fan of good quality porcelain. It wears and cleans very well and if you get the right stuff and it's laid well it looks as good as a natural stone floor.
I've specified a lot of high end porcelain and I'm just having it laid in my kitchen at the moment. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about being house proud or if DH drags the cooker out or DS drops something on it.
Limestone is hardwearing but only if you clean and maintain it properly. Also you have to be careful with acidic things dropped on it or acidic cleaning products (don't use vinegar on it)
