F&B wallpaper and other stuff...

This will probably be the first of many posts from me in this topic. I'm just starting redecorating my house from scratch. Having split up with H I wanted a 'fresh start' but love the house / location at the stability it will give the kids, so...

I'm going to start with my bedroom. I've ordered the Antoinette bed in silver from Next and have decided to make my room a fairly sumptuous, girly boudoir (not something the ex would have gone with at all!). I've foolishly had a look at the F&B wallpapers for my feature wall and fallen truly, madly, deeply for the Wisteria paper in blue and silver. But it's £98 A ROLL!! That's £200 for one wall!!!

Big gulp time... I'm willing to go for it - after all it will be more of a statement about me making a new start than anything else - but I'd be gutted if it turned out turned be a bit rubbish. Has anyone had any experience of F&B paper? Is it as gorgeous on the wall as the sample implies?? Will it make me forever happy???

Btw I'm thinking of using 'Elephant breathe' cream for the other walls and having a roman blind in silver shot silk and blue velvet drapes (or vice versa). Very lush and over the top...

F&B wallpaper is very good quality and will look good on the wall as long as it's hung by someone who knows what they're doing. Eternal happiness, however, may require something more spiritual Grin

Well done! Sounds beautiful and good for you. I love all that over the top look as well!

My bedroom is F and B Calluna, and it is lovely, but so chalky that any tiny mark shows up on the wall! So much so that we've had it re painted once already (the wall with the most traffic by the door). You can't use a little magic eraser on it either as leaves worse marks!

Obviously go for it if that's what you want, but just a tip that they are not very durable at all!

Congratulations on your fresh start !!! Wowser ! Expensive tastes !! If you can stretch to it and you absolutely love it - then go for it ! If you want to save some pennies, then have a good search around online and locally before you go for broke !!

Just remember if you spend less - you will be more likely to give yourself another look in a couple of years , but if you overspend you will be reluctant to ever change it !!! :-)

Sound advice OnePlan. Will have a deep think.
I've been pretty lucky really - I've been able to remortgage the house (without pushing myself to my limits) with enough extra to fund pretty much everything I want to do. I'm making a long wish list of the furniture I want and will be maxing out on the Christmas sales to try and get the best I can within my budget. Got a feeling F&B don't do Christmas discounts though! Sad

Fresh and glitters - thanks for the views!
