Aagghh I need to fill the boiler as the pressure gauge says it's only 0.5 bar(?) I went to turn the tap thingy underneath and it just snapped off! Now I can't do anything with it Angry HELP!

please describe the part that broke. Is it a plastic lever, in red, blue, black or yellow? Or is it a brass "T" bar? Or is it a screw-head?

Thanks. It's a brass t bar on the outside/ under the boiler itself.

so you probably have a stopcock something like this or this If you have the large brass stopcock it is more likely for the water flow through the boiler to the taps, not for the filling loop.

Pegler is a very superior brand, but look at the price, you can afford it.

I thought you would more likely have one of these which are not usually much good.

If you are fond of DIY plumbing you could change it yourself; if not, not. As it is a brass handle then the spindle is probably damaged; if it was a plastic lever you could probably replace it; except that to break the lever the valve is probably jammed, unless you are needlessly violent.

Hope I'm not needlessly violent! But thank you, I will sort it!

Hi,

If you are descriding the the filling loop do you still have access to the spindle if so use a small wrench and turn it gently through 90 degrees.

If its too tight gently turn the backing gland anticlockwise and hopefully you will gain some slack to the spindle.
