What cleaning chemicals are safe to use alongside anti-mold silicone bath sealant?

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I have been procrastinating about getting rid of the revolting mouldy silicone all around my bath (which seems to be rotting from underneath) and resealing it - but I'm trying to get my courage together to actually do it.

One thing I'm wondering about - once I've removed the old silicone, presumably I am going to have to clean the exposed area underneath to get rid of additional mold before I apply the sealant (I'm going to use a mold resist one).

It's just I know from cleaning that there are certain cleaning products that shouldn't be used together because of toxic gases being released when certain chemicals are mixed - so I'm wondering if that might be the case when using a sealant with anti-mold properties on top of an area that has been cleaned with another product?

I won't be able to give it that effective a rinse after cleaning, because removing the previous sealant will expose areas that my ex resealed in the past where we had previous leaks through to the ceiling below(!) so want to keep water around the gaps to a minimum!

Can't see anything on the tubes of sealant I've looked at in the shops - and I know I have a tendency to be neurotic...

Thanks for any tips!

Personally I would throw everything at it, then invest a load of time and effort "rinsing" it. If you can't douse it with water, then use a clean, wet cloth, rinse the cloth and repeat, and repeat, and repeat. Get it scrupulously dry, and then reseal.
