wardrobe on cold exterior wall

Hi, I want to have a built in wardrobe in my bedroom. Only problem is where I want it is against 2 exterior walls. It's an old property (1800s) and the walls get very cold. If I don't run a dehumidifier in the winter I get condensation running down them in the morning (over insulated loft doesn't help with this as nowhere for moisture to escape). am I being stupid and I'll end up with moldy clothes or will it be ok? Is there anything I could do to make it ok?

Yes it would get mouldy. You need to heat and ventilate. Could you put a vent in the ceiling inside the wardrobe? You could extract it to an outside wall via the loft. Or some air brick maybe? I would also put a light inside.

we have a bedroom which has three old solid walls! We have put internal insulation on one of them (moisture board with foam backing) - bugger to put up and hide the joins but it does seem to have stopped the condensation on it. Windows are wet in the morning but that's easily wiped.

haven't tried a wardrobe though, but there's a bed against it and no damp seen. No dehumidifier.

so try that first maybe?
