Matching units in kitchen

Has anyone heard of or used DM Kitchen Design? They installed the kitchen in our new house and we want to knock through to utility room and match the cupboards they have already installed.

I've been reading the numerous bad reviews this morning. My choice would be to purchase the cupboards and work top supply only and have our builder fit them. The company say only they can fit them.

I love the kitchen and only want a few extra cupboards. Can anyone think of any other options I have for matching cupboards and work top or do I really have to use them?

I'd recommend talking to a few local carpenters and asking them to quote on building the extra cupboards to match/complement what you have - no reason you need to go with the people who made the originals if they don't suit.

Would a stand alone piece give you all you need - a dresser perhaps, maybe an antique piece (and I've seen a few companies making lovely stand alone pantries).

I'd go for a complete contrast so there is no confusion with the original. As suggested above get a local carpenter.

pinkje I really like that idea but as it will be the utility end of the kitchen I want to house the washing machine and tumble dryer plus it will be a very big space when the wall comes down. Most of the space will be taken up by the table moving but I did want to tie everything together with the units.

Moonlight I think I'm going to look into that but I'm going to investigate the worktop first and whether a local supplier can match that.

DH says to have the company round and build our own impression of them. The work they've done here looks good and the units are lovely. Most of the bad reviews concern them not finishing the job due to something not being delivered and leaving it months before coming back coupled with high pressure sales tactics.

I'm also going to work out what I need and approach their head office re supply only.

Ooo! Just for anyone reading this in the future the head office said today they can supply only for our project!

Hurrah!

Thanks again for your advice.
