Butler style sink for utility, but less ££?

I need to put a new sink in my downstairs loo but would like one with room to wash muddy boots/fill a mop bucket/soak washing etc.
I don't have a utility room so ideally would like to put in a large butler style sink.

But I seems it'll end up being rather pricey once I've bought the sink/taps/waste and unit for it to go on (and had the unit reinforced to take the weight).

I have looked on ebay and Gumtree but the purpose made units are hundreds of pounds and there no reclaimed units on offer at all, only some very battered looking sinks.

Has anyone created a similar look but using a cheaper bathroom sink/vanity unit?

TIA

I'm not sure there is going to be an easy option. It doesn't have to go on a unit, which could cut the expense. You could get some legs like this. What were you hoping to spend?

My budget is around £200 all in (ie sink and unit).
I could get a reclaimed sink if I can find a decent one and a B&Q base unit, was just hoping there was a cheaper/easier way.
Would quite like a unit base so I can store loo roll/loo cleaner etc.
That said, I did see this IKEA sink which might work (though I cant tell if you could fit a bucket or wellies in it)

Have you considered a second hand one? There seems to be a few on EBAY.

Pannacotta · 13/11/2013 20:59

Zoo do you mean sink or unit?
Happy to get reclaimed but its the unit which is pricey and I couldn't see any second hand ones on there.

Ah so sorry I see the problem..could you get a stand made? (checkatrade is sometimes a good place to look) Not sure if you'd need a joiner or a plumber though?

OhBabyLilyMunster · 13/11/2013 21:10

I have the ikea one, its great

Pannacotta · 13/11/2013 21:29

OhBaby do you have the large size and do you use it as a utility sink?

Will it accommodate wellies and bucket etc? I hate filling up mop buckets in the kitchen sink and have nowhere to clean filthy football boots!

I could get a stand made but that would blow my rather small budget (need to get taps/waste too). I do have someone to fit it but need to find a cheap solution.

This also looks good but again not sure if the sink is deep/wide enough.

Thanks.
Great sink but you cant buy the single sink online for some reason!

if it's the size you want, and not the 1910 chic and the bad back, you can get a big sink from a catering supplier. It will be thicker and more durable stainless steel than a domestic one. It will probably come with its own stand (it does not sit in or under or on a worktop). It will be expensive than you expect.

for example

Thanks PJ.
It will only be used for washing hands and wellies/footie boots rtc. I am not so tall so a low sink is fine!
Any suggestions for catering suppliers?
I would like it to look decent though, and in keeping with the house which is victorian.
