Striped stair carpet

I live in a new build house, with a large hall which has cream polished porcelain tiles, the stairs to first and second floors, the gallery landing and all the bedrooms have cream carpet, which has got really grubby on the stairs to first floor. I quite fancy replacing it with a neutral striped carpet. Would I get away with just doing the stairs or do i need to do the landing to ?. Also what about the second staircase (which is not directly off the first and is still like new) would that need doing ?. Your thoughts please as I am undecided.

Ooh I quite fancy doing this. IMO you would be better doing the first stairs and landing all the same, and leaving the second stair case as is for now.

Are you going for a runner or full-width carpet?

I've always fancied using striped carpet on our stairs and upstairs landing BUT the landing is not very long and narrow too...I have the dilemma of wanting stripes but knowing that it would cost a fortune in terms of metres length I would need (and not the width) if that makes sense....

Yes, I would do the stairs to the first floor and that landing and leave the second staircase untouched at the moment...

We have a striped carpet in our hall/stairs/landing, I love it. Ny friends just has it on the stairs and wooden flooring in hall and landing and that looks great too, although I think she wishes she had done the landing too. I think it depends if you can see the 2nd stair case from the first, if you can I think I would want them the same.

thanks all. ShoeLaRue was going to do full width, with it being a new build I am not sure the stairs underneath would be nice enough to be exposed.
fruitloop84 you can't see the second staircase from the first, it is to left about 4 ft and goes up in the opposite direction iyswim (sort of left at the top then left again to go up)
gazzalw hadn't though about the amount needed, although I do have quite a narrow landing it is long and goes in two directions
