I have Bone in living room (has come out very green but lovely), Overtly Olive (Dulux) in hallway, Blackened in bathroom and Vert de Terre on front door. Am now looking for grey for north west facing bedroom. Am stuck between Elephants Breath, Pavilion Gray and Lamp Room Gray. Has anyone used these colours? I really love Belgian style interiors and don't mind if the room looks cool rather than cosy. Please help ladies as am going crazy with the indecision!

Hi Sim LONDON

Hope you dont mind me hi-jacking you bit I am stuck stuck stuck with colour.

Just saw your poost re testing paint colours. Just wondered how big you did the squares? - I cant quite affoerd 20/30 - ive got 10 and am about to apint them - i iwndered if they needed to be a certain size for it to work? - My colours are all quite similar - oirtland stone / french grey / leads / rollng fog and I amo worried I still wont be able to choose - any tips??

French chic - i used those samples - I thought pavilion grey was too insipid and Lamp Room grey too green - although the colour i ended up with was too blue - wish I had of stuck with the lamp room grey! - However, in my local paint shop this morning - They had a new F & B colour card for just greys! - they were loads of them in there!! maybe give F & B a call.- also have a look at Little Greene Paint compnay - it has fabbo reviews over F & B - Ive just used London Stone (F & B) in my hall and it looks fab against the white woodwork.

Anyone with any useful suggestions for me as well would be greatly received - especially SIM london and the size of the squares lol!!!

Thanks sim. Can now knock Lamp Room Gray and Pavilion Gray off my list. Am now stuck between Elephants Breath and Manor House Gray but am also wondering about Dove Tale. As to the sizes, I usually paint the back of old wallpaper - as much as the tester pot will cover. Really you want as big a sample as possible and am sure you have heard this before, but make sure you view it in different lights and move your samples to different parts of the room at different times to get an idea of how the colours change.

Having said that, I have never yet picked one of my sample shades. I have always ended up going to F&B shop and then buying a different colour on impulse. Although have had some unexpected results, I have never yet been disappointed with a colour x

Try Shaded White - soft grey/puttyish colour. I adore it and am always recommending it on here!

Not F & B but we have Crown Period Colours Lady Jayne in our Living Room - another lovely soft grey.

Had pavilion grey in my last bedroom, south east facing with big windows. It was lovely, a true grey, quite cool but we had a lovely wood wardrobe to warm it up. I loved it.

Thank you for the tips. Shaded white sounds lovely for the kitchen.

Has anyone tried Dove Tale by any chance?

Like MyBoils I'm always recommending Shaded White too so second that.

It is so lovely and I'm really pleased that the F&B raved about it. I got it over a few of the more popular ones.
