Hot Water Tap

Hi, doing up my kitchen at the moment. Does anyone have any advice on boiling water taps? Which is the best one in your experience and do they (which brand) make a noise whilst the water is boiling? Having the open plan kitchen/family room/Dining room so conscious that I don't want too much noise when we are trying to watch the telly :-)

I have had a Quooker for 2 years and I love it. There is no boiling noise at all, there is only the tiniest "click" when the heater bit comes on and off and a little light on the tap to show the heater element is on.

There is no clutter on the work surface like a kettle and it is so safe, no wires to pull, etc. The best bit is getting a cup of tea the minute you get in the house.

My only advice is not to rinse your hand under the running boiling water when you've had too much to drink!

A friend of mine did this and end up with a terrible burn.

We have a quooker and it is great. Whooshing noise when you pour, but quiet rest of time.

Persil have you serviced it? We did yesterday with some stuff the company sent free...working fine now, but lots of lime scale! Yuck!

Haven't serviced it yet. We have soft water with no limescale issues. Didn't even know you could service it yourself, might look into that. It is by far my favourite thing in the kitchen.

Thanks all. Think I will probably go for the Quooker fusion!

I have an Insinkerator instant hot water tap and it is a hell of a lot less money wise than the Quooker, no disrespect to the Quooker Grin

Mine was £365; hot water only as we have filtered cold water through the fridge freezer.

We keep it below the top temperature as I drink tea and you don't need boiling water for tea. I have an induction hob so getting the water up to boiling point takes 30 seconds.

It does make a noise for about 4 seconds when it boils up and it sounds like a plane, but it isn't something that is that noticeable.
