selling then renting before buying - what to do with white goods??

We have just accepted an offer on our house, and will be renting locally until July, then moving up to Manchester, where we might also rent for a while. Am dithering about what's best to do with our fridge, washing machine etc as we probably won't be able to move them into rented, even if renting unfurnished. Is it worth storing them for that time (possibly up to a year)?
Otherwise I guess we could see if the buyers are interested ...

I'd see if buyers want, if not sell then replace once you find your next place.

I was shocked at how little used white goods fetch. When refitting, I sold a fridge and a tall freezer for £5 and £10, and gave away a dishwasher, a cooker and a washing machine on Freegle.

The problem is that they are large and heavy, and you need someone with a van or hatchback and two strong women to carry them away. If you have to pay a "man with van" and also to dispose of the old one, it becomes uneconomic. There are some real bargains to be had if you can collect and find good quality stuff (of course, a lot of it is old and not much good)

Self storage is likely to be at least £100 a month. No sensible persen will want their garage filled up.

We kept ours in the garage of a rented house for 6 months and they were fine when we went to use them again in our new house.

it's not worth paying to store them, especially as you don't know what will come with the house that you will eventually buy. If you need them and can take them to the first rental, fine. If not...

If you can't store them free, sell them on ebay if they are new-ish, otherwise leave them if your buyers want them or freecycle them.
