Bedroom curtain linings

I'm about to make curtains for a bay window in my bedroom.

I can't decide if it would be better to line with blackout lining or reuse interlining from existing curtains and add new cotton sateen lining.

The fabric is a cotton in a graphite colour.

Any curtain making experts out there?

Should add it is a single glazed draughty window and I hate even the slightest glimmer of sunlight at 5am in summer.

Will blackout lining hang awkwardly compared to the interlining. Should I make detachable linings.

I have a cold which has rendered me totally indecisive.

I'm not a curtain expert but I have blackout lining from dunelm mill and it actually seems to make the curtains hang better.

You would be unwise to re-use the original linings, unless they are almost new as they will have had the most sun exposure.
It would be common to remake curtains with fresh linings, to rejuvenate them.
Blackout fabric can be bought online pretty economically and as said above, will make the curtains hang better as well as having some thermal insulating properties.
Just make sure that your track is capable of holding the extra weight.

If anything the blackout lining should make them lighter. They are like vast blankets hanging there.

I am under pressure as previous owner who made these curtains lives next door so don't want her Hmm at my attempts.
