We are in process of applying for planning permission for extension which will be against neighbours wall. Its double storey and about 6m long. However neighbours decided for various reasons they didnt want our extension to touch their wall, so architect has done it with 200mm gap between the 2 parallel walls. This is to allow space for 2 separate gutter systems etc, and builders are planning to use bricks that are ? Waterproofed and dont require rendering.
Does this sound ok? I'm a bit worried about damp developing between the new walls, this would be pretty inaccessible if it did happen. Also concerned re possible vermin or birds going in the gap.
Architect has made a few mistakes along the way and I don't have a lot of faith in him now. I would be very grateful for any opinions on this
Thanks
